Yusuf Adepoju, a businessman, has been unable to complete transactions on the fintech platform Prospa since June, and this has left him helpless and unable to provide services to his customers.
The businessman told FIJ that he had been using the fintech application before June 2 without hitches and only began experiencing troubles on June 3, when he attempted to make a transaction of N10,000.
“I had some jobs to do and needed to make a payment to an account. So, I transferred a little over N10,000 to an account, but it was tagged as a pending transaction. I exercised patience and checked back after 30 minutes, but the transaction was still pending,” said Adepoju.

That same day, he transferred N53,000 to another account, which wasn’t successful until some days later.

He decided to try it again the following day, but this time he transferred the sum of N50,000 to his Access Bank account. Like the first, it was tagged as a pending transaction.

Adepoju told FIJ that he lodged complaints with Prospa’s customer representatives on WhatsApp, hoping they would resolve the issue.
On June 6, he attempted another transaction of N50,000. This transaction failed, and the money was not reversed into his account.

Again, on June 21, he transferred N100,000 to an Access Bank account and, like the rest, the transaction has been pending since then.

“I contacted the customer care representatives several times. Whenever I did, they would request some details, I would provide them and they would go mute. They reached out to me on July 4, promised to resolve the issues and asked me to exercise patience, but they didn’t say when it would be resolved,” he said.
FIJ emailed Prospa on Monday. When they responded, they asked this reporter to tell Adepoju to contact them. Adepoju did, but they failed to resolve the issues over 24 hours later.
