The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested Daniel Chijioke, a man living with HIV, in Ukwu-Orji, Imo State, for repeatedly raping the 13-year-old daughter of his fiancée, Godstime Ubani.
Ubani told FIJ that NAPTIP apprehended Chijioke on Thursday after interviewing both her and her daughter.
“NAPTIP arrested him after he returned from a trip on Thursday,” Ubani told FIJ.

Ernest Ogbu, working with NAPTIP at its Owerri office, also confirmed to FIJ on Friday that Chijioke had been arrested and was in custody while the investigation was ongoing.
Earlier, FIJ reported that Ubani accused Chijioke, who has a high viral load, of raping her daughter throughout July while she was away.
According to Ubani, she only discovered the abuse on Saturday because Chijioke manipulated her into believing she would die if she revealed what he was doing after forcing her to take some fetish substance.
Ubani said Chijioke, in what she described as an act of revenge, told her he deliberately raped her daughter to repay her for exposing his status, a claim Ubani denies.
