  • Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned final-year Nursing students and concerned stakeholders, write to formally petition against the current arrangement for collecting induction ceremony fees, which raises serious ethical, financial, and procedural concerns.

A breakdown of the purported induction cost totalling ₦9,828,000 has been circulated by a self-appointed induction committee. The entire sum is being funneled through a private bank account belonging to a student representative, namely:

Account Name: Edosomwan Osazeeme Israel
Account Number: 9249926015
Bank: FCMB

We wish to emphasize the following issues:

  1. Gross Lack of Transparency: The budget includes vague and seemingly inflated items such as “Miscellaneous – ₦500,000,” “NMCN Rep – ₦1,000,000,” and “Gowns – ₦3,058,000” with no official receipts, tenders, or vendors named.

  2. No University Authorization: There is no proof that the university has officially approved this financial arrangement, nor has the bursary department endorsed the payment process.

  3. High Risk of Financial Misappropriation: Transferring institutional funds to a student’s personal account exposes all contributors to fraud, theft, and zero accountability.

  4. Coercion & Intimidation: Students are being pressured to pay under threat of non-participation, despite these glaring irregularities.

We respectfully demand the following:

  • Immediate halt of all financial collections into private accounts.

  • A transparent, audited budget for the induction ceremony.

  • An official school account for any legitimate payments.

  • Disciplinary action against any individuals or staff who may be involved in this scheme.

  • Intervention from NMCN to verify and reduce official costs.

We believe that this issue tarnishes the image of your esteemed institution and may lead to public scandal if not swiftly and properly addressed.

Sincerely,
[Your Name/Representative Group]

🎓🚨 SCANDAL ALERT: Nursing Induction Scam at Benson Idahosa University?
Final year students asked to pay nearly ₦10 million into a fellow student’s personal account?!

Thread 🧵

1/
Students were told the induction ceremony would cost ₦9,828,000 — broken into catering, decorations, “miscellaneous,” and a shady ₦1m for NMCN “representatives.”

2/
Instead of an official school account, the entire money is to be paid into this private account:

🧾 Edosomwan Osazeeme Israel
🏦 FCMB – 9249926015
🧑‍🎓 He’s a student! Course Rep! Not an admin!

3/
This is NOT how universities are supposed to operate. No tenders, no breakdown of vendors, no audited accounts, no bursary approval. Why is the school silent?

4/
This raises serious issues of:

  • Financial abuse

  • Extortion by proxy

  • Fraudulent impersonation of NMCN billing

  • Misuse of student office and intimidation tactics

5/
We call on:
@OfficialEFCC
@NMCN_Nigeria
@NigeriaGov
@guardianngr
@SaharaReporters
…to investigate this and save these students from being robbed in daylight.
