The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has said that if popular Fuji artiste Wasiu Ayinde is found guilty of attempting to stop a ValueJet plane from taking off, his actions would be considered an act of terrorism.
Ayinde, popularly known as K1 de Ultimate or KWAM 1, has come under public scrutiny after a video of him dodging a moving plane at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, surfaced online.
According to The Cable, the incident occurred on Tuesday when the singer was seen drinking from a flask and was approached by a flight attendant who suspected that the content was a substance passengers cannot take onboard an aircraft in Nigeria.
This flight attendant tried to take the flask off him, but Ayinde insisted that it was medication from his doctor.

His team has now claimed it was water he got in the lounge while waiting for his flight.
When KWAM 1 did not give up the flask, the attendant proceeded to deboard him. Reacting to the decision, he went to the front of the plane to prevent it from taking off.
A video shows the plane moving while Ayinde runs out of its way.
Subsequently, the NCAA issued a statement announcing the suspension of the pilots’ licences. They also said they have launched an investigation.
On Thursday, J. J. Omojuwa, a social commentator, had asked, “The punishment for alleging that a passenger was unruly isn’t to kill them with a plane.”
Michael Achimugu, the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, responded, “True. This is why the NCAA has suspended the licence of the pilot. Stopping an aircraft from flying is considered terrorism.”

According to the Terrorism Prevention Act, 2013, the crime of terrorism attracts punishments up to life imprisonment.
Although the NCAA is still investigating, it is set to blacklist Ayinde for six months. Achimugu said during a press briefing on Thursday that the Authority would write to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate legal proceedings against the artiste.
