The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has admitted it erroneously published the phone number of an Anambra State-based commercial driver as one of 37 phone numbers for spokespersons of police commands in states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), shared (archived here) the phone numbers on Thursday night, but the publication came under scrutiny when Ifeanyi Utaba, a commercial driver, began to get calls from people mistaking him for Moses Yamu, the Edo State PPRO.
FIJ reported this gaffe on Friday after Adejobi failed to react to calls to his line.

Minutes after this report, he took to X to announce, “My attention has been drawn to a typo error in the cell phone number of the PPRO Edo earlier published. This has been corrected. Take note of the correct digit. Thanks.”
In Adejobi’s earlier post, he included Yamu’s number as 08036363532. This number, FIJ found via Truecaller, belongs to Utaba.
Yamu’s 08036363531 phone number only differs from Utaba’s by one digit, the last one.
