Arik Air has refunded Abraham Oresanya’s N326,000 withheld since June.
This refund came on Saturday, a day after FIJ published a report detailing how Oresanya’s money got stuck between Arik Air and First Bank.
The report detailed how the airline kept directing him to consult his bank for the refund, despite the same bank admitting that the transaction was successful at their end.
“Good evening. Arik Air has refunded me. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it,” Oresanya wrote to FIJ via text.

On Friday, FIJ reported that Oresanya made a payment of N326,000 to Arik Air via Paystack in June but the airline failed to issue him a ticket, claiming the passenger name record (PNR) number had expired.

The airline advised him to visit his bank and request cashback. Oresanya obliged.
When he did, the First Bank staff member who attended to him said the only way he could get a refund was through Arik Air because the transaction was successful at their end.
Again, he contacted Arik Air. The airline’s response to his email was the same as those they had sent earlier.
Oresanya visited the bank and contacted Arik Air on multiple occasions, but both organisations kept shoving him around and failed to do the needful until after FIJ’s publication on the issue.
