Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) has cleared N223,319 out of the accumulated debt it piled on Godstime Agho, a Lagos-based resident.

This followed FIJ’s report on the matter.

Agho confirmed to FIJ on Saturday evening that he noticed the accumulated debt, which was initially pegged at N335,981, had been reduced to N112,622.

“I logged in to my IKEDC account and saw that my outstanding debt had been reduced to N112,622,” he said.

“This was after a restriction they’d placed on my account was lifted. Thank you, FIJ.”

On July 4, FIJ reported how the distribution company levied a strange debt of over N300,000 on Agho.

This accumulation happened after a third-party agent sent by the distribution company mismatched his details.

The Lagos resident said he paid several visits and wrote several emails to the company but to no avail.

When FIJ contacted IKEDC on Agho’s matter, the company said they would make a credit adjustment of N163,163 to the customer.
