Dave Okorodion, a Lagos-based phone vendor, has refunded N500,000 to Damilola, a Lagos resident who paid him N1.4 million in March for an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
This development occurred only hours after FIJ reported that Okorodion had refused to refund Damilola’s money or provide the iPhone 14 Pro Max she had paid for.
When FIJ contacted Okorodion on Tuesday, he stated that he had been trying to refund the remaining balance and assured that it would be paid in full by the end of the week.
Damilola, expressing her gratitude for FIJ’s intervention, informed FIJ on Wednesday that she was thankful and mentioned that Okorodion had promised to settle the remaining balance two weeks prior.

On September 25, FIJ reported that Damilola had contacted Okorodion in March to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max with 256GB of storage for a friend. She paid the N1.4 million price in two tranches without negotiation.
“I couldn’t send the full amount at once, so I transferred the payment to two instalments on the same day. He confirmed receiving the first payment before I sent the second. However, after that, he became unreachable,” Damilola told FIJ.
She added that despite making the full payment, she neither received the phone nor a refund until FIJ intervened.
