Timileyin Ajayi, the confessed killer of Salome Adaidu, a 24-year-old corps member, was arraigned in the Nasarawa State High Court, Lafia, on Friday.
According to the Nasarawa State Police Command, Ajayi was charged with culpable homicide which is punishable by death.
Culpable homicide is contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern, Nigeria.
“Timileyin Ajayi was charged to Court today, on one count charge of Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria,” the command stated on Friday.

The court ordered Ajayi’s remand at the Correctional Facility in Lafia.
Ajayi was arrested in Nasarawa on Sunday after he was caught with Adaidu’s head.
FIJ reported how the late Adaidu’s family expressed the belief that their daughter was not Ajayi’s first murder victim. While granting interviews to the media, the suspect had claimed he was involved in a romantic relationship with the deceased.
However, the family denied it and demanded for justice.
