Nasir El-Rufai, a former Kaduna State Governor, has filed a fundamental human rights lawsuit against the Kaduna State House of Assembly over a claim that his administration misappropriated N432 billion and plunged the state into debt.
FIJ gathered that the former governor appeared at the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Wednesday to file the suit. With him was Abdulhakeem Mustapha, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
El-Rufai is claiming that the assembly did not afford him a fair hearing to defend himself against the allegations. Joined as respondents are the assembly and the state attorney general.
