A yet-to-be-identified counter-protester has been filmed slapping a protester who was being interviewed live by a journalist from Enterprise TV.

In the 43-second video, the protester, expressing his anger against the government from Lagos, was just introducing himself when the counter-protester, dressed in a white shirt, suddenly appeared and struck him in the face.

The protester was pushed to the ground, and the interview ended abruptly.

Reacting to the assault, the protester said he would return to the protest ground the next day. He also said even if he died, there were millions of his replica out there whom he knows would continue the struggle against the government.

“I am coming back here tomorrow; let us come with their squad. If they kill me tomorrow, millions of me are out there fighting for the freedom of this country,” he said.

“In this struggle, we are not going to back off; no retreat, no surrender. If they kill me today, there are millions of me that will still stand.

“I am a freedom fighter, this Nigeria belongs to everybody. It does not belong to a particular set of people. Anyhow they want it, we’re going to give them back to back.”

VIDEO: Protesters Confront Anti-Protest APC Loyalists in Lagos

Pockets of violence against protesters of #EndBadGovernance have been reported since the agitation started on Thursday.

On Friday, FIJ reported how protesters in Lagos complained about loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) interfering with their cause.

They said the foreign agents had made them feel unsafe, as they continued surrounding the Freedom Park they were designated to by the state government.

Also, several pro-government groups have taken to the streets to declare support for the Tinubu-led administration.
