Oyindolapo Asaolu, a chef in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has narrated how N1,035,000 mysteriously disappeared from her Kuda Bank account on Friday evening.
Asaolu told FIJ that she found out that her life savings of over N960,000, which had been locked in her account, were wiped after suspecting that someone had attempted to steal her USDT on ByBit.
She said that upon realising this, she tried to change her Kuda Bank account password, but this was when the stark realisation that her funds had disappeared hit her.

“Someone had sent me N45,000 earlier, and another person had transferred N30,000 to my account, but all I could see was N540. I logged out and logged in to confirm what I had just seen, and it was my reality – my money had disappeared, including my locked savings of over N960,000,” Asaolu told FIJ.
She said she began to cry as the new reality of her financial status hit her but soon started sending emails to Kuda Bank to find out what was happening.
According to Asaolu, Kuda Bank has been saying they are not responsible for her loss. She said the bank only sent her the name of the receiver of her money.

Asaolu, who took to X (formerly Twitter), said she thought what happened to her was an inside job because someone tried to take down her X account after the matter went viral on Saturday.
“This morning (Sunday), my account was hacked, and every post about the fraudulent case I posted was yanked off my page; the username changed to Kuda,” she said. “Although my friends helped me to retrieve my account, the hacker blocked some people who had promised to help me.”
When FIJ sent a letter to Kuda Bank for comments on the matter, the bank did not respond.
