The Department of State Services (DSS) on Tuesday grilled released Idris Animasaun, an “architect and social change advocate” based in Oyo State for seven hours, after he honoured the security agency’s invite.
FIJ learnt that Animasaun, known on Facebook and X for his criticism of Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration, arrived at the DSS office in Ibadan at 10.00 am.
A source, who does not want to be named, told FIJ that he was invited for interrogation in connection to his frequent cricitism of the governor.

While speaking with FIJ around 5.30 pm on Tuesday, the source said, “I think he wrote some things against the governor.”
Meanwhile, FIJ found that Animasaun seemed to have predicted the invite as seen in a post he made last Friday on his Facebook page.
He wrote: Governor Seyi Makinde said Nigerians are hungry and angry, but if I should reply, Dr. Debo Akande will arrange people to come on a tour of Fasola, call my Egbon that I don’t want to mention his name to do a sponsored post on blogs, prints and social media, send CPS to different radio stations to defend the retrogressive policies or worst case scenario as always, send DSS to threaten me. Screenshot to him and ask him if any of the things I said never happened before.
And then on Monday, he got a call from the DSS, inviting him to be at their office on Tuesday by 10.00 am. He was eventually released in the evening.
