Max Air has told Michael Idemudia, an Abuja resident, that his N120,000 refund would take over a year to be processed after cancelling his flight in July and failing to oblige his requests for a refund.
Idemudia told FIJ that he booked a flight from Abuja to Lagos in July to visit his sister, who was travelling to Canada. Although Idemudia made payments to reserve a seat for himself on the flight, the trip to Lagos never happened because the airline cancelled the flight that same month.

“I booked the flight from Abuja to Lagos in July, which was cancelled by the airline. I asked for a refund because the flight was no longer necessary. I contacted the airline and I was advised to request a refund. The first time I did, I was told it would be processed in 21 working days,” Idemudia told FIJ on Thursday.

After the 21-day deadline for refund elapsed, Idemudia got no refund. He contacted the airline again and this time, they told him they ran into some problems and the refund would take a year to be processed as a result of this.
“They are saying it might take over a year. I cannot wait for that long. It is not something I can wait for,” said Idemudia.
FIJ emailed the airline on Thursday, but they did not respond.
FIJ recently published a report about Max Air’s refusal to settle its N1,045,000 indebtedness to Cacelyn Travels and Tours Ltd, an agency managed by Evans Chigbundu, despite several requests for a refund
Another report published by FIJ about Max Air’s refusal to refund a customer details how the airline denied Innocent Etonu, a resident of Rivers, a refund of N58,000 since July.
