A police officer, who sources claim to be the Divisional Police Officer of Rijiyan Lemo Division, has threatened to kill protesters in Kano.
In a clip shared with FIJ on Saturday, this officer swore by God’s name to kill protesters on a condition.
He promised to conduct killings if anyone harmed any of the officers dispersing the protesters.

“Keep looting. Is it because I did not do what I had done to them?” the police officer said in a northern dialect.
“Those throwing stones should not stop. I swear to God, if police officers bleed, I will kill. I swear to God I will kill.”

FIJ saw that the video appeared from the same source on X and Facebook on Saturday. Viewership remained low and the language barrier limited its audience across Nigeria.

Witnesses continue to share how police officers were responsible for killing protesters in the ongoing #EndBadGovernance demonstrations.
FIJ has also seen a clip of a police vehicle carelessly shooting a water cannon at protesters and officers alike.
That police vehicle rammed into another vehicle and another security official was badly injured.
The Nigeria Police Force has tried to downplay its contribution to the death and casualty toll since Thursday. It has not taken responsibility for killing #EndBadGovernance protesters once.
