An Oyo State resident who wishes to be simply identified as Emmanuel has narrated how Tizeti, a fixed wireless broadband internet service provider, came to take his outdoor access point for an upgrade exercise but failed to return it to him.
Emmanuel told FIJ that the wireless device was picked up on December 15, 2023.
“It has been more than seven months since Tizeti came to take my outdoor device from my home, but disappointingly, they would not return it back to me,” he said.
“I have been using the device regularly since August 2022.
“While taking the device away, they promised that they would return it to me within a short period.

“Since it has now taken this long for the service provider to return my device to me, I am beginning to think its officials only deceitfully took the device away from me.
“I paid them N59,500 for the device and its installation, and if they don’t want me to use it anymore, they should refund me. It’s still mine.”
Emmanuel further told FIJ that he had sent several emails to the company about the incident but the exercise had yet to yield a positive outcome.
“Between December and now, Tizeti’s response had always been that it was working on my complaint and that its officials would soon reach out to me,” said Emmanuel.
“That is yet to happen. Who carries out maintenance and upgrades on a device for seven months? Perhaps the device has even been re-sold to another customer as a new one.”

When FIJ sent an email to Tizeti’s customer support desk for a reaction to Emmanuel’s complaint on Wednesday, one of the company’s representatives, who simply identified herself as Dolapo, gave an assurance on Thursday that the aggrieved customer’s device reinstallation had been placed on top priority and would be resolved on or before August 17, 2024.
“Can you imagine? Since December?” Emmanuel responded.
