Kidnappers who took Eniola Ojajuni, the National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, have demanded a N100 million ransom within 48 hours lest they kill him.
On Friday, SaharaReporters published a phone call recording between Ojajuni and one of his family members. During this call, Ojajuni hands the phone over to a kidnapper.
The youth leader tells this unnamed family member that the kidnappers shot him in the buttocks. He shared pictures. Later, a kidnapper confirms and says they shot Ojajuni twice and would shoot a third fatal one if they don’t get the ransom in full.

“We don’t have that kind of money,” the family member says during the call.
“We are planning to sell a small piece of family land in the village. If we sell it, we’ll see how much we can raise. How do we bring the money? Where do we pay?”

The kidnapper insisted he must pay the money in cash.
“Please, can you accept N10 million? That’s all we can raise,” The family member said.
“God forbid bad thing,” came the reply. “If you continue talking nonsense, I swear to Almighty God you won’t hear from me again. The last price my boss gave me is N100 million, but if you can raise something better, let me know.”
In a separate conversation, the leader of the kidnappers said, “If he has nothing, listen carefully. I’m not forcing you to look for money. But if you don’t have it, I still have bullets. I already shot him twice, and I can add another bullet to make it three.”
They also claimed someone paid them N50 million to abduct Ojajuni and cut off his head, manhood and eyes.
Ojajuni appealed to his family members to reach out to Deji Adejyanju, a lawyer and activist, for help. He said they had given him a 48-hour ultimatum.
“They have given me a 48-hour ultimatum. If the ransom is not paid, they will kill me. This is my last chance,” Ojajuni said on the call.
The kidnappers abducted him on Monday, and the Afenifere National Youth Council confirmed the incident a day later.
